Glen Golightly's recent experience has included producing a feature documentary, PR director for the 2011 Little League World Series champions and serving as the publicist for an award-winning short film.
He may have grown up in Texas, but wanderlust took over and Glen has roamed the world and lived in Europe, Asia and Mexico. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
A former Army officer, Glen has also worked professionally as a manager, journalist, publicist and filmmaker. He was a staff writer at the Dallas Business Journal and Houston Chronicle. Glen was also the Houston bureau chief for space.com where he specialized in covering NASA, human spaceflight and historical topics.
Glen served as a Web content supervisor at the dawn of the Internet age. He incorporated audio, video and panoramic photos to tell stories in new and compelling ways. His skills have evolved as the Web has to include social networking and media.
As a corporate publicist at Boeing, Glen was the company spokesman in the aftermath of space shuttle Columbia's crash.
Glen also developed communication plans, news released and trained and coached executives in dealing with news media interviews. During his Boeing tenure, Glen acted as communications director for the information technology group and Boeing Space Coast Operations. He also worked with the advance R&D group in addition to security and fire, conservation and real property.
He arranged interview subjects, props, b-roll and locations for "Extreme Aircraft," "Modern Marvels" and "Monster Garage." Glen also served as a location coordinator for two dramatic series pilots shot at Boeing facilities. Glen also produced and directed webcasts, podcasts and video news releases.
He has a Master of Professional Writing degree from the University of Southern California along with a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds a certificate in film/TV directing at UCLA Extension. In addition, Glen is a Defense Information School graduate.
