Lights, camera, action. . .

My latest project is "Pandora and Prometheus," a techno thriller/love story I wrote and directed.

We shot on Kodak Super 8 movie film and participated in the "Attack of the 50 Foot Reels" screening at the Egyptian Theatre on Oct. 22, 2009.

It was great fun and a leap of faith to shoot on film and not be able to playback the footage or watch on a monitor.

I recently wrote and directed a spec commercial for Post-it Notes. Please comment and rate too. This project came together from concept to YouTube posting in little more than three weeks.

I'm also currently in post-production for a comedy short I wrote and directed called "KRAP-TV in High Definition!" It skewers TV and broadcast news while offering a homage to the end of the analog era.

We shot June 6-7, 2009 in the studio at McNulty Nielsen Productions in Los Angeles andGlen Golightly on location in Manhattan Beach. Postproduction after shooting green screen has been an interesting experience. Peruse photos from the shoot here.

Cindy Merrill is the female lead and Manhattan Beach legal eagle, Steven F. Carvel is producing.

We should have a final cut before the end of summer and then it's off to enter in film festivals.

Thanks to the fantastic cast and crew who made it all possible!

In other news. . .

I'm continuing my studies in film directing at UCLA Extension. I'm currently taking Directing Workshop I along with working on my other projects.

I previously took some writing classes at UCLA Extension and had a great time. I even wrote some sketch comedy.

There's still an infinite quantity of my digital chapbook still available. There's also plenty of dead tree copies I'd be happy to snail mail you.

A producer optioned my Vietnam War script "Men of Virtue" not long after the WGA strike ended. I'm burning incense every evening to persuade the universe to cough up some dough to finance the flick.

As always, I’m keeping my journalistic skills sharp by taking freelance newspaper and magazine assignments.

Thanks for checking in and I’d love to hear from you.
